I think it's pretty safe to say that I peaked early, with this, my third and
probably best song. I actually couldn't sleep at night because I kept coming
up with lyrics for this song. The vocals fit, the guitars are rockin',
the drums and bass, solid, the spoken word section, the deliberately cheesed
out guitar solo, etc., everything just fell into place. I personally think
this song is hilarious, and a few important people agree, so I must not be
totally crazy, right? Sadly some reviewers (cough, Jim, cough) just plain
didn't get the humor in it, which kind of blew my mind. Anyway, I got totally
ripped off and didn't win this fight, and practically nobody knows about this
song. Please listen to it!!
Lyrics
verse 1 you're an archetypal typist an archival genius and you've got a really tight bun i'm not a sexist or a misogynist that always was my favorite haircut chorus hold my calls among other things happy Secretary's Day to you let's go out tonight and get a little tight then at my place you can take some dictation hold my calls verse 2 i've had other assistants but i don't even miss them they can't hold a candle to your raging flame sure they were all good looking but i'm hooked on your cooking i melt like fondue when you say my name chorus the way you smile when i walk in is like a thousand stars shining on my face and the coffee you make in the morning is so black, it's like the darkness of space i remember a time when i lived without you ... if you call that living now at night i dream about you taking memos, scheduling meetings fax me, page me, love me, come on, baby, hold my calls
Etc.
Straight ahead blues-y rock, guitar, drums, bass, vocals. I tried to make
sure there was a counter melody type thing happening in a third guitar track
to mix things up a bit.
